Context

Mozilla is a global nonprofit dedicated to an open, accessible, and secure internet. Firefox is its flagship browser, trusted, independent, and privacy-first. The brand was undergoing a pivotal moment of renewal.

My Role

As Head of Brand Design, I led the creative direction for Mozilla’s brands and marketing efforts, with a focus on the Firefox family of products. I oversaw a team of ~9 people across brand design, UX/UI, motion graphics, and illustration. My mandate: to bring coherence to the brand, product, and communication across global markets and diverse touchpoints.

My Team

I managed a team of ~9 designers, spanning:

  • Brand Design – Crafting and evolving Mozilla’s visual identity
  • UX&UI Design – Ensuring seamless, user-centered experiences
  • Motion Design – Bringing brand storytelling to life through animation
  • Illustration – Adding depth, personality, and storytelling


Together, we shaped the look, feel, and voice of Mozilla’s brands, balancing creativity with strategic business goals.

I guided the design to ensure the brand felt consistent, confident, and alive in every region and channel. The result: stronger brand perception, higher internal alignment, and a design team that could move with clarity and purpose.

I had the pleasure of working with Clio at Mozilla. He joined the team and immediately made a positive impact. He breathed life into a nascent brand identity system, making it sing across platforms and channels. He championed consistency and elegance across our many web experiences. He quickly became a valued partner across the entire design community, from marketing to product, and a respected leader within the brand team, known for empathy and generosity. Plus, he's a damn fine musician!
