Mozilla
Role: Head of Design
From: July 2019 - September 2020
What is Mozilla
Mozilla is a global nonprofit organization and tech company best known for creating the Firefox web browser. Its mission is to promote an open, accessible, and secure internet for everyone. Mozilla advocates for user privacy, internet health, and digital rights, setting it apart from many for-profit tech companies.
What is Firefox
Firefox is a fast, private, and secure web browser built by Mozilla. With powerful privacy protections, customizable features, and an independent open-source foundation, Firefox empowers users to browse freely while staying in control of their data.
Beyond Firefox, Mozilla develops and supports a range of products and initiatives, including web development tools, privacy-focused apps like Mozilla VPN, and projects aimed at advancing open-source technologies. It also leads advocacy efforts around topics like net neutrality, online privacy, and open standards, reflecting its commitment to creating a better internet ecosystem.
My Responsibilities
As Head of Brand Design at Mozilla, I led the creative direction for all Mozilla brands and marketing efforts, with a strong emphasis on Firefox. I ensured that the brands, messaging, visual communication, campaigns, and user flows across all channels aligned to drive customer acquisition and strengthen brand perception and presence.
My Team
I managed a team of ~9 designers, spanning:
- Brand Design – Crafting and evolving Mozilla’s visual identity
- UX&UI Design – Ensuring seamless, user-centered experiences
- Motion Design – Bringing brand storytelling to life through animation
- Illustration – Adding depth, personality, and storytelling
Together, we shaped the look, feel, and voice of Mozilla’s brands, balancing creativity with strategic business goals.
